Undergraduate Education
To apply to this department, students must have a high school diploma and obtain a sufficient score on the centrally administered university entrance exam. The Chemistry undergraduate program is designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge in chemistry. In accordance with the relevant legislation, our department has switched to a 7+1 education model, under which students complete workplace training in the 8th-semester. During the transition to the 7+1 system, relevant courses were incorporated into the four-year curriculum to equip students with research skills.
In the first year, courses in physics, general chemistry, and mathematics are offered to ensure that students with different levels of prior knowledge reach a common foundation. In the subsequent years, the compulsory courses include laboratory work in addition to theoretical instruction, aiming to provide students with the practical knowledge required for their professional careers. Beyond laboratory experience, the program seeks to equip students with the ability to adopt an analytical approach to problem-solving and to scientifically evaluate complex information and data. Elective courses offered in the second, third, and fourth years are designed to enhance students’ knowledge in the areas they select according to their interests.
There is an optional foreign language preparatory program at our university. Students who wish may enroll in the preparatory class. Detailed information about the preparatory program is available on the website of the School of Foreign Languages.
